Being the regulator of the construction sector in Malaysia, the Construction Industry
Development Board (CIDB) is responsible for regulating, developing and facilitating the industry by inculcating professionalism in delivering quality, productive and sustainable built environment. In line with that mission, it wanted to enhance its communications with industry players.
Having been commissioned to tackle this challenge, The IBR Asia Group carried out a study to come up with a solution which included discussions with CIDB and its stakeholders. This led to us conceptualising and executing a two-prong approach. The first was to create a platform for CIDB, in the form of a dedicated publication – Heights – which was used to inform industry players of the latest regulations, innovations and technology, while getting feedback from them.
At the same time, we also helped revamp, provide content and produce Bina MAMPAN – which is the publication of the the Sustainable Construction division of the Construction Research Institute of
Malaysia (CREAM) – a subsidiary of CIDB.
Through Heights, we enabled CIDB to better deliver its message to industry players, which in turn helped them enhance capacity and strengthen confidence in the sector by showcasing the sector’s strength and viability to would-be investors. Our revamp and production of Bina Mampan also helped achieve this, as we established CREAM, and by extension CIDB, as leaders in the fast growing sustainable construction sector.
