It Is Time for Borneo to Shine!
And We Would Like You To Shine Along With It!
During the International Business Review ASEAN Awards Gala Dinner and Presentation Ceremony on 9 December 2022, the Guest of Honour – Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Abang Open, the Premier of Sarawak, called for an awards ceremony to celebrate the contributions of Sarawak companies to ASEAN. Inspired by the Premier’s call, The IBR Asia Group has decided to take it one step further and we are pleased to announce that the IBR Borneo Awards will be taking place in October 2023.
There are many fascinating aspects about Borneo. It is the third largest island in the world. It has a rich ecosystem – home to one of the oldest rainforests in the world and various flora and fauna not found anywhere else. It has huge deposits of natural resources such as timber, precious metals, minerals and oil and gas. It is also the only island in the world that is shared by three separate nations – Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.
Borneo also has the potential to become a major economic hub in Southeast Asia. Already it is home to many thriving businesses. And with Indonesia building their new capital city Nusantara on Kalimantan, Borneo is set for even greater things.
